Museo le Carceri, 27 october 2019 - 2 february 2020
The sense of Vaia
Vaia reminds us how vulnerable and weak we are when nature shows itself in all its powers.
14 millions trees were the result of it’s destructive force.
The real sense of an ecological culture is to connect people with the same purpose, and the most effective way to raise eco awareness is by using Art as a bridge between natural symbolism and human life.
The Vaia storm has economically devalued the "tree" resource but has exponentially increased its symbolic and vital value for the whole humanity.
The tree is broken and becomes a metaphor. The forest, the vegetation, the biodiversity are the collective patrimony, the inheritance, the vital source more and more to safeguard.
The exhibition will open in October at the museum “Le Carceri” and titled “il senso di Vaia”.
The purpose of the sculptures exhibited by Paolo Ceola is to raise awareness about enviromental issues(including the SelvArt path in Mezzaselva di Roana ).
The exhibition begins with the "Golden Trees" which are sculptures from the broken trees. Within the exibition there will be collections of photo-art, sculptures and installations as a homage to the force of nature.
The sculptures will become an integral part of the exhibition which will be produced as a limited edition.
Throughout the exhibition it will possible to partecipate in workshops, guided tours, conferences and meetings.
