DESCRIZIONE
The path starts from the Ice Stadium square from where it goes towards “Laghetto Lumera” and subsequently towards San Domenico quarter. Just before reaching Buscar quarter you can take a little unpaved street which joins the main road to reach “Forte Interrotto”.
Continuing along the street you can visit the military installations of “Monte Rasta” and subsequently, continuing the road in hairpin bends reach “Forte Interrotto”
This defensive arm camp dates back the middle of 1800, it was entirely built with stones (differently from the modern forts built with concrete), during the First World War was almost entirely destroyed by the bombing; immediately after the war the stones were used to build the near village of Camporovere. Thanks to the reconstruction works carried on by the “Ecomuseo della Grande Guerra Prealpi Vicentine”, it is open today and used as location for special events.
From here the forest road goes inside the wood and allows to reach the Mosciagh cemeteries 1 and 2 area. All the way follows a part of “Sentieri della Pace”, a touristic-excursion path of over 500 km which connects Stelvio with Marmolada and connects in a single track many places and localities along the ideal line of the Italian-Austrian front of the First World War.
This path is very interesting also from the naturalistic point of view and for the wonderful panorama from the top of “Monte Interrotto”, in fact in cloudless days even the Venetian Laguna can be seen.
POINTS OF INTEREST:Lumera Lake, War posts of Mount Rasta, Fort Interrupted, Mosciagh Austrian Cemeteries.
